School Adoption Program (SAP)
The School Adoption Program (SAP) is a national program launched under the Patronage of HM Queen Rania Al-Abdullah in May 2006, initiated by INJAZ for the Creation of Economic Opportunities for Jordanian Youth and implemented by INJAZ and its two strategic partners; the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Private Sector. The SAP shares common main goals with the National Agenda; to develop the Jordanian educational sector, and help create a new ‘culture’ in which the private sector plays a major and direct role in the development of the educational system.
Despite the fact that the program is still in its early stages, there have been many accomplishments that have reinforced the great need of this program. The areas for improvement in our schools are numerous, which makes every contribution to improve the schools advantageous.
The Role of INJAZ
INJAZ acts as the coordinator between sponsoring companies and adopted schools and allocates the funds provided by these institutions in order to enhance the schools’ learning environment and facilities, which has a direct influence on the quality of education in the adopted schools.
INJAZ gives leverage to the SAP program and paths the way to its success through several advantages that it enjoys. Some key advantages are:
- The expertise that INJAZ has developed in dealing with public schools; INJAZ main operations include dealing with schools on a day to day basis, which has throughout the years built a solid relationship with schools as well as a very good understanding of the needs and necessities of those schools.
- The strong partnership that INJAZ has built with the private sector; INJAZ currently has over 100 partners from the private sector, and has built a wide database of contacts and great abilities in dealing with national, regional and global corporates.
- INJAZ has acquired good experience in the area of raising and allocating funds; this experience helps INJAZ better carry out the SAP since the program's key drivers include those functions.
